Thanksgiving Day meal program accepting monetary support

Compassion Network will distribute free takeout Thanksgiving dinners from noon to 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at Bethel United Methodist Church, 150 Alder St., Lower Burrell.

Donations to help with expenses can be made at paypal.me/parnassuspartnership and checks made out to PAPP can be mailed to P.O. Box 3055, New Kensington PA 15068.

Concordia Retirement Living plans free dinner, tours

Concordia Haven Retirement Living Apartments will sponsor free dinner and show Nov. 5 in the Haven I dining room, 112 Marwood Road, entrance 2A, Jefferson Township.

A free pork loin dinner will be served at 4 p.m. and a seminar about living at the facility will be afterward. Miss Freddye’s Homecookin’ Band will entertain after the seminar and tours of the facility will be available.

Registration is encouraged by Wednesday for the dinner portion of the event, but walk-ins are welcome. For reservations, call Peggy Trettel at 724-352-5378 or email ptrettel@concordialm.org.

Opportunities available to help senior citizens

Open Your Heart to a Senior is looking for volunteers to help our older neighbors.
